hey i was wondering.....i heard you guys have some fun haflas and are always open to caberet dancers performing (at least that's what i heard). so being a cab dancer, my friend meleesa (also a cab dancer--we're both from/and teach at Habeebas cincy) and i have a cab duet with a halloween theme and we were wondering if (whomever is in charge of the haflas) would mind if we do our duet for you for the october/halloween hafla. would this be a possiblity? if so please can someone message me with details either thru tribe or thru my email: peachyos@hotmail.com

Thu, September 27, 2007 - 5:06 AMYes, please come to our hafla. The first 45 to 60 minutes will be student performances. We open it up to open dance after that with special performances every so ofter. Also bring your CD and something written telling us who you are and a little about the piece you're performing. We'll make an anouncement before you go on so everyone knows who you are. Please bring your CD and announcement to me (David) and I'll let you know when you are on.
Feel free to bring Kathy and any other students and friends.

Wed, October 3, 2007 - 10:28 AMawesome!! sounds great! what are the details....time, place, theme etc...please let me know asap. i think that i'd probably bring meleesa with me. we've been interested in attending the gaiananda haflas but never got around to getting info to go. but i'm definatly up for providing you guys with 2 cab belly dancers and we might even have a duet that we do with a halloween theme.
so if you can get me the details asap that'd be super!!! thanks david!

Friday October 5th at 7:30 PM
Student Haflas feature the students from each class backed up with live music from the Gaiananda Band. These performances take about an hour with open music and dance to follow.
The Center for world Rhythms and Movement welcomes all belly dancers to an evening of dance. You can just hang out or perform on the World Rhythms Studio stage, with professional lighting and sound it’s a great venue to perform in. We encourage dancers to perform, so bring your CD or dance to the live music provided by the Gaiananda Band and special guests. If you want to perform please call Suzanne.
Drummers and other musicians are welcomed but this is a Middle Eastern hafla not a drum circle. Please be familiar with ME rhythms bring Middle Eastern instruments.
