Hello Dancers and Musicians,
The cancellation of the first Tribal Conference in the Midwest is a
great disappointment to all of us on many different levels. I feel for Paulette and her clan, I know that they put out so much towards this event only to have to cancel it with no compensation for their efforts. I am hoping they will want to try to sponsor this event again at another time. We shall see.
For now, this unfortunate change of plans may bring more students that will be able to have the
additional time and money to attend the Blue Lotus Workshop and to participate in the performances with them that evening. A few more students have signed up since they learned about TQMW
being cancelled.
This is the last opportunity we have to make this workshop happen.
If we do not have 15 students registered by the end of the day on
Sunday, Oct. 1st (I'm giving it a one day extension) we will not be
able to offer The Blue Lotus workshop either.
Let's bring this group in and show the rest of the community that
there are enough interested Tribal dancers in our area to make
putting forth the effort to sponsor an event worth their time to
offer it to us.
Dance and be well,
Suzannne
Blue Lotus is a Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Troupe out of Chicago Illinois and they are inventive dancers and wonderful teachers. Although this is a workshop on Tribal Moves to 6/8 Rhythms, this is not limited to Tribal dancers and these moves and combinations can be used in choreographies for any style of Belly Dance.
Wouldn’t it be a nice change to dance to a different rhythm other than Baladi or Chiftitelli? There is a wonderful sway and pause in the 6/8 rhythm that lends itself to many creative movement ideas. This may be the inspiration you or your troupe need to be motivated into a new expression of dance.
Remember that if our dance community wants to have unique and diverse opportunities to learn, and grow as dancers, we have to support the venues and events that are being offered. It is important to register for workshops and classes early so we have some idea of the level of interest.
If you would like to register for this workshop, please call me so I can decide if we will be able to bring this fabulous group into Cincinnati. For those of you who have already paid or wish to pay, I will hold your checks until we know if we have enough dancers registered for this event or you will be contacted and your money returned in full if it is cancelled.
Thanks,
Suzanne 513 312-9628
